The app itself follows the Windows Phone 7 guidelines in many ways, it uses a Panorama view to let you easily manage your blog/website, but also has an Actions dashboard that quickly lets you get to what you need to do. It’s all about keeping it simple and functional. There’s something magical about the stylish typography combined with simple and easy-to-understand icons. All accompanied by well known WordPress colors and styles.

This is amazing, thank you for creating a WordPress app for Windows Phone. My phone is complete. Well done.

Absolutely awesome to see this app go live. A mobile blogging ability is now in my Windows Phone 7.
I do have a couple of quick observervations and understand that this is a 1.0 version and there is tweaking to be done. I hope that tweaking will include fine placement of media that is inserted into the post instead of just above or below the text. I use shortcodes to place certain things at the top and bottom of my posts and thsi places the picture in the wrong spot.
The other thing is – no Save Draft option? I tapped the disk icon expecting it to save a draft since I was not hitting the publish button and the post I was working on was uploaded and went live.
Of course I could be missing some setting but I have explored all the settings dialogs and have not seen a draft mode.
Again – great stuff and I look forward to seeing the progression of this app.

Thanks for the kind words.
Media placement within posts is something we want to incorporate in all the official WordPress apps in the future, including WordPress for Windows Phone 7. Regarding the Save Draft function, it looks like this is broken in the current release. Of course you should be able to save a post within the app. We’ve filed a Trac ticket about this and are hoping to get it resolved quickly in the next update.

Isaac,
Thanks for the reply. I have also corresponded with Dan and he has added a couple of my other concerns/issues to the issue tracking on this release.
Glad to see such a proactive response and am looking forward to watching the community do their magic with this app.

I’m happy to report we should have resolved some of these issues already. A quick update to the app was submitted to the Windows Phone Marketplace earlier, hopefully you’ll have it soon! We’ll keep looking into the other issues.

WordPress on Windows Phone 7 is a must…
Thanks for making it real!

The application looks very classy, although I am a Windows Live Writer sort of guy.
There is emphasis on this being Open Source but I don’t know what the license is. Where can I find it?
Isaac Keyet — December 15th, 2010 at 4:05 pm
WordPress for Windows Phone 7 is released under a GNU General Public License. Updated the Development section of this site to mention it, thanks for pointing it out.

How do I set up api key to get my stats. I know this could be a silly question but I can not find this on my blog. Sweet app.
Isaac Keyet — December 16th, 2010 at 5:51 pm
For a self-hosted WordPress blog you need to have the Stats plugin installed. You’ll find it in the plugins directory!
jeffdalydose — December 16th, 2010 at 2:03 am
This is soooo welcome to my world of blogging! I had been longing for a solution when I was on Windows Mobile and am so glad that it’s here for WindowsPhone7.
So far, my only issue is that I can’t view stats. I keep getting an error that reads “api_key does not belong to an administrator of blog”.
Isaac Keyet — December 16th, 2010 at 6:58 pm
Responded in the forums. We’re looking into it!

Hi, it´s working with normal posts. When I attach a media file, say a picture, it´s says uploading media and then quits the app. No Post uploaded after that… :/ That happens on my LG Optimus 7
memasap — January 6th, 2011 at 6:10 pm
have you received an answer?. I am having the same issue except when it uploads original size media.
